Volunteer Program

Administrative Volunteers

VNA Administrative Volunteers assist with filing, mailings, and special projects.  Schedules are flexible (weekdays) and typically involve two to four hours per week.  Special project volunteers help with occasional fundraising and community special events.

Professional Volunteers

People with special expertise contribute their time and talents on an ongoing or project basis: graphic artists, photographers, writers, nurses, musicians, etc.

VNA Hospice Direct Care Volunteers

Direct care volunteers offer support and comfort to our Hospice patients and their families, in the patient’s home or at a nursing facility where the patient lives.  They may offer a few hours of respite, companionship or help with household tasks.  Most assignments involve a commitment of two to four hours a week.  Our volunteers do not provide personal or nursing care.  A 20-hour training program is required for fall volunteers working directly with Hospice families.
